To all the Maziarskis: I was lucky to meet Zbig in my teens through his good friend Roman.In those days, are paths would cross periodically at Georgian Bay or in Barry's Bay, until I moved to Ottawa for university. Although I was really just an acquaintance at that time, Zbig had no hesitation in taking me under his wing and helping me settle into my new life in Ottawa. Many a weekend were spent at the Rainbow or other music venues (often following Tom Wilson and the Florida Razors). He quickly became a dear friend. He taught me to drive standard and guided me through some tough spots in my life. I will always remember him as a thoughtful, fun-loving and generous soul. Although in recent years we rarely saw each other or spoke, his annual Christmas card kept me up to speed on life in Lively, and always included a recent pic of his kids, of whom I know he was so, so proud. I think he would have totally appreciated my bright green Chuck Taylor's...glad I wore them for the visitation. He touched so many people's lives...his smile and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.
