Many of my favourite memories were made at Mrs Mustonen's camp on Long Lake. A steep hill led to a wonderful paradise. A cozy cottage, with carpets on the walls, European style chairs and a beautiful view of the lake where people on the far bank were just specks. Always some work to be done, but with the chance of a steambath and swim at the end of the day. Even after decades, I still bluffed my way through many the conversation with her, but I was always made to feel welcome, and her smile was genuine, and did someone mention fishing ? Another favourite memory is her meat pies, as they are the stuff of legend. She'd send some over to the house, and the gang would suddenly be using all of their math skills to ensure that they were getting their fair share before they disappeared. Finding some stashed in the basement freezer was a real victory. Good times indeed.
