Ronald Fredrick “Rooster” Squires
who passed away on Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 surrounded by loving family at Health Sciences North in Sudbury.
Ron was born to William and Ethel Squires in Coniston, Ontario December 13th, 1931. Ron is predeceased by Frieda, his wife of 62 years and his son Davis. He is survived by sisters Gail and Edith and brother Lloyd, his daughter Sandra Maclean , and sons Darryl (Lyne), Kevin (Lori), Doug (Alice), Bill (Donna), 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Ron retired from INCO Nickel Refinery Electrical Department and continued to live in Lively until he and Frieda moved to Amberwood Suites. Previous to Lively, Ron began raising his family in Coniston, Ontario where he invested many years in the local Scouting Movement. In his retirement years he continued to partake in beloved outdoor activities including hunting and fishing while enjoying his summers on Manitoulin Island.
