Obituary for
Alan Findlay
In
Loving Memory
of
Alan Findlay
57 years
After a long courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully at home
on Sunday, June 18th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves behind a rich legacy of love for family. Beloved husband and travelling companion for 33 years to Nicole (nee Godin). Loving father of Jasmine and Gordon (Amanda Cunningham). Proud and adoring Papa of his grandchildren; Rory, Hunter and Little Danica. Cherished son of William “Don” & Patricia (predeceased) Findlay (nee Hartzenberg). Dear brother of Robert (Pamela Bullard) of Etobicoke and Peter of Sudbury. Adored son-in-law of Merilda Godin, whom she called her miracle man. Special nephew of Inge Hartzenberg of Australia. Godfather of Scott, Rory & Hunter. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousin, friends and the Godin Family. Waiting for him in heaven are his canine companions Thunder & Lilly.
Alan worked at CP Rail for over 30 years. He was a member of Church of the Ascension. Alan had a passion for travelling; he enjoyed many trips with his wife and grandchildren. Up until recently he was an active and devoted papa; always sitting in the crowd for any soccer game or swimming lesson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Noble and Dr. Tenhunen for their care and compassion. A special thank you to nurse Jenna Huff for taking such great care of not only Alan, but also his family. Also a special thank you to Michel Lapointe of the Correactology Health Centre and Dr. A.W. Martin of the Martin Clinic. Alan truly believed that these people made a big difference for the positive in his journey.
