The first time Patrick took me home to meet the family, we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Joyce on the Verner river.  He thought it quite acceptable that my name is Erin, a nice Irish name.  He asked if I had heard the song 'Erin Go Braugh'.  When I replied that I had not.  He said, "Well, let me finish this glass of whiskey and I will sing it to you".  Our conversation continued and we sipped our whiskey down.  He took his last drink.  Set his glass down, and broke into song.  He sang, what is now my favorite Irish song, with passion and joy.  And I knew then and there, this was the family for me.  He sang it again at our wedding in Ireland, along with many others.  Thank you, Grandpa O'Brien for always being so warm and welcoming.  You will be missed, but forever in my heart.
