Passed away, Wednesday, August 31st, 2016 at the Extendicare York, Sudbury.

Beloved wife of Aake Olavi Heiskanen predeceased 1997. Loving mother of Risto Heiskanen (wife Terry Lee) and Brenda Maas. Cherished grandmother of Seija Heiskanen (Nathan Epp), Markku Heiskanen, Julie Maas (Josh Kater), Adam Maas (Anne) and great grandchildren Niko, Ronin, Laneija, Ayla and Eli. Dear daughter of Arne and Elsa Kasten both predeceased. Toini was the most kind hearted person, she was kind to everyone she met. She and Aake were married for 50 years and she was his rock, always by his side. She enjoyed cross country skiing and was a multiple champion small bore riffle shooter. Toini worked at Heiskanen Jewelers for over 30 years.

As per her wishes, there will be no funeral visitation or funeral. Cremation.
