Obituary for
Livia Leppanen (Beltrame)
Livia Leppanen
In Loving Memory of Livia Leppanen (nee Beltrame), 87 years. It is with heavy hearts, the family of Livia Leppanen announce her passing on Sunday, August 14, 2016 peacefully at home.
Livia was a very proud homemaker, raising 5 children. Nothing brought greater joy to our Mother than her children and grandchildren. Also very important to her was her role as a Wife, Aunt, Sister, and Friend. As a Mother and Nonna, she never missed birthdays, hockey games, graduations or any of the holidays. After her children left home, she took care of children for families as a nanny.
Aside from her family, religion was important to her throughout her life, providing her with great strength and comfort. She took pride in helping at the Church of Christ The King, and being a member of the Catholic Women’s League.
She loved birds, music and dancing. She enjoyed eating and preparing good food. It gave her much happiness to see her family eating. She loved people and took great interest in their personal lives. Livia was a kind and thoughtful person, and a very loyal friend.
Our mother was pre deceased by her son and our brother Eric and will be greatly missed by her children, Myra (Curtis), Freida (Bob), Martin (Susan) and Lisa. Loving Nonna of Shawn, Wesley, Kyla and Joshua, and Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
We cannot extend enough gratitude to the staff at Casa Del Zotto. Leticia, Lorretta, Lilianne, Samantha, Maria Christina, and Greg Natale. There are no words to express our appreciation and love to her personal support worker, Roseli Targa. Each one of you kept our Mother healthy and happy by loving her and caring for her like she was your own family member.
Resting at Bernardo Funeral Homes, 2960 Dufferin Street, Toronto on Thursday, August 18 from 5- 8 pm.
Resting at Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street, Sudbury on Friday August 19 from 6-8 pm. Funeral Mass at Church of Christ the King, 30 Beech Street, Sudbury, Saturday August 20 at 10:00 am, followed by Burial at the Civic Cemetery on August 20.
In lieu of flowers, a mass in our Mother’s honour or donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Arthritis Society would be appreciated.
