It is with great sorrow the family of Rita McPhee announces her peaceful passing at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care on Saturday, June 18th, 2016 at the age of 90. Loving daughter of Malcolm and Catherine McPhee predeceased. Beloved sister of Anne Carscallen (Loyst) both predeceased, Catherine Closs (Norval) both predeceased, Teresa MacEachern (Andrew deceased), Helen Gustafson (Ken) and Joan McPhee. Dearly loved aunt of Garry Carscallen (Janet), Brian Closs, Karen LaRose, Terry Closs, Bonnie Delay (Sab), Heather Brown (Gary), Ralph Closs (Carrie Lynn), Sandra Castonguay (Ritchie), Tracy Gunn (Don), Kelly Farrell (John) and of 22 great nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by Sister Shannon Hickey, Sue, Kathy, Jeanne, Irena and Vic, Margaret, Gerald and family. Rita was employed by Revenue Canada for 37 years retiring in 1989. Long time member of Holy Trinity Parish and presently Church of Christ the King. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Catholic Women’s League. Rita was very generous to numerous charities and fostered several children from third world countries with whom she still had contact after many years. Special thanks to Msgr. Brian Dixon, Fr. Larry Rymes, Loretta Reichle, Ministers of Eucharist, Dr’s Fenton, Willoughby and Pudupakum, Dr. J. Mulloy, Dr. K. Gill, St. Joseph’s Continuing Care staff, Tammy Lynn, Tina, Laurie, Bayshore staff and the many caring Handi Transit Drivers.
Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may call from 2-5 & 7-9pm Monday. Vigil Prayers will be held at 3pm.
Funeral Mass will be at Church of Christ the King, 30 Beech Street, Sudbury on Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 at 10am. Committal Prayers will be at 2pm at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Markstay
