Shirley Edna Dumas (Fleming)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Shirley Dumas (Fleming) at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, on Friday, April 29th, 2016, in her 79th year.
Daughter of the late Christopher and Marie Fleming. Loving wife of Peter Dumas predeceased 1987. Cherished mother of Murray Dumas (Kathy) and Linda Stasiuk (Alex). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Tara Dumais (Darryl), Megan Sutinen (Bradley), Kyle Stasiuk, and Courtney Stasiuk. Grandma Birdie to great grandchildren Emmett, Graeme, and Odin. Loving sister of Murray Fleming (Mary predeceased) of Ottawa, and Edward “Buddy” Fleming predeceased 2000. Special aunt to Ann Marie, Sandra, Shirley, and nephew Barry. Special friend to Teresa Mulcahey, Sister Patricia Milks, Joe and Doreen Laderoute. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Shirley worked for Kresges/Kmart/Zellers for 47 years. She was a devout Roman Catholic and was a member of Holy Trinity and Christ the King CWL for over 50 years. Shirley was always there to support her grandchildren in all their activities and loved spending time with her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the 8th and 4th floors of Health Sciences North.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated. As per Shirley’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Memorial Funeral Mass will be held in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech Street, Sudbury, on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016, at 10am. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery. Friends may gather at the church after 9:30am Wednesday. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
