Lucien J. Chenier
Sir Knight Lucien J. Chénier, – 1922 – 2015 - The family announces with sorrow his passing at Health Sciences North on Monday, May 11th, 2015 at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband of 69 years of Nada (nee Sorel). Loving father of Jacqueline (Hector Doucet), Elaine (Rae Sheedy), Robert (Jean), Maurice (Marilyn), Lorraine (Panos Psarras), Laurent (Francine), Paul (Francine), Paulette (Peter Ellis), Daniel, Joanne, Rosanne (Hector Portelance) and Carmen (Nicholas Pavlakos). Son of Napoléon and Bibiane (nee Chaperon) both predeceased. Brother to the late Paul-Emile (late Béatrice), Antoinette (late Del Val Paquette), late Ernest (Yvonne), late Armand, and Raymond (Augusta). He will be greatly missed by his 18 grandchildren, his 25 great-grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews.
A special word of thanks is given to his son Laurent and his daughter-in-law Francine for their never ending support and care. They were his angels. The family also wishes to extend their thanks to his caregivers at HSN including the team of the 8th floor cardiac care and the ER staff, his friends at Southwind, the people at CCAC and the EMS team. Lucien was the founding Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus, St. Jacques Council 5005.
Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer. Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9PM Friday, May 15 and after 9AM Saturday, May 16. A Memorial Service will be held at 8pm Friday under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus Council 5005 Hanmer. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Église St-Jacques, 46 Cote Blvd. Hanmer, on Saturday, May 16 at 11:00AM. Interment in Valley East Cemetery.
