Lynn McLewin (nee Plouffe)
I was very saddened to hear of the passing of one of my favourite uncles. Growing up, Uncle Terry would come to Ottawa once a year to visit us from Coniston and we all looked forward to his visits. Often he would show up unexpectedly surprising us--how we loved that. It would put an instant smile on Mom's face as she loved her brother so much and thoroughly enjoyed his company. He was one of the kindest most generous individuals I ever had the pleasure of meeting--and how lucky was I to have him as an uncle. I remember every year when he would visit us he would always take the time to interact with us kids and gives us all his love. He would sit with me for hours going over mathematical problem solving questions, which I loathed, and explained it in such a simple manner while exuding more patience than I will ever have in a lifetime. Prior to going back to Coniston he would always slip me a $10.00 bill. These small acts of kindness are what made him the sweetest uncle anyone could wish for. Oh, the wonderful memories Uncle Terry..there was the trip Mom and I took to visit you and Rita in Clearwater, the surprise you gave Mom by showing up at her 70th birthday bash, our road trip to Montreal when you got pulled over for speeding (that is a separate story), your presence at our wedding 13 years ago and then there was the road trip Dad and I took to visit you in Sudbury in 2008--had I known that was the last time I would see you alive I would have told you so much more. R.I.P. Uncle Terry--you will be forever remembered for being a wonderful human being and the best uncle in the world! I will miss you immensely! Mom will miss her brother more than words can say! To Rita and all my aunts and uncles, my sincere condolences. Love, Lynn xxx
