Adelson Edward "Al" Gobert
In loving memory of Al, 74 years, Wednesday April 11, 2012, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario with his family at his side.
Son of Adelson Sr. and Victoria, both predeceased. Survived by Diane, his loving wife of 52 years. Loving father of Brad, Janice (Neal), and Darren. Cherished grandfather of Adrienne, Adam, and Alexa. Dear brother of Robert (Eunice), Irene, Isabel (Doug), Wilf (Marg), John (Sherry), and Jerome (Lorraine). Predeceased by brothers Gerard and Walter, and sisters Edith and Astrid. Step brother of Rogier (Lena), Mary (Romeo), Maurice (Sue), Jean (Irvine), Edward, and Norman (Janet). Predeceased by step-siblings Leona, Charlie, and George. Also lovingly remembered by Orville, Pat, and Tina.
Al retired from Unitel in 1995 after 39 years of service as a Telecommunications installation technician. He was known for his excellent work ethic and willingness to always lend a helping hand. Al loved hockey and was a dedicated Boston Bruins fan, who knew every statistic on every player in the NHL! He also coached hockey for many years and kept in touch with some of his players throughout his life. He was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6074. He also loved gardening, dancing, reading, fishing, blueberry picking, and spending time with family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
