Gerry Lougheed Jr., Managing Director

Gerry Jr. is a native Sudburian who graduated from Humber College in 1976 with the highest Board of Funeral Services exam grade in all of Ontario.  As well as being a Funeral Director and the Vice President of Lougheed's Limited, Gerry Jr. is extremely involved in the Sudbury Community, in particular with the Bereavement Foundation of Sudbury, the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre, the Maison Vale Hospice and the Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrisers.  He is a recipient of two honourary doctorates and the Order of Ontario. Gerry Jr. enjoys horseback riding and cycling, and is a regular and popular contributor to Sudbury South Side Story newspaper and hosts the weekly Shining Lights radio program on CJTK.

Geoffrey Lougheed, Funeral Director

Geoffrey Lougheed continues the Lougheed legacy of dedication and service. He graduated as School President from St. Charles College in 1977, and graduated from Funeral Service Education at Humber College with honours as the top overall student in Ontario in 1978. Since graduating, he has worked with Lougheed's Limited, currently serving as Vice President of Operations.

Colette Blais Lougheed, Funeral Director

Colette is a native Sudburian who graduated from Ecole Secondaire MacDonald Cartier in 1977, and from Humber College of Applied Arts in Funeral Services Program in 1980.  She worked as a licensed Funeral Director at Co-Operative Funeral Home from 1979 to 1985, and since 1985 has been a licensed Funeral Director with the Lougheed and Jackson and Barnard Funeral Homes.  Colette is a lifetime member of St. Jean de Brébeuf Church.
Colette is a member of the Northeastern Ontario Funeral Services Association, a member of the Club Richelieu Feminin de Sudbury, a lecturer, educator, and facilitator of Funeral Services in the Sudbury Community, a board member of the Sudbury-Manitoulin Childrens Foundation, and currently sits on the Advisory Board of  Collège Boréal's Formation en Services Funéraires.  Colette is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Carrefour Francophone and a past member of the Sudbury Business and Professional Womens Club.  Colette is also a Licensed Practical Examiner for the Board of Funeral Services in Ontario.

Colette (née Blais) Lougheed est née et a grandi dans le quartier du Moulin à Fleur à Sudbury. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de l'Ecole secondaire MacDonald-Cartier, elle a étudié au Humber College, à Toronto où elle a complété son éducation en services funéraires. Mariée à Geoffrey Lougheed depuis plus de 20 ans, elle est directrice de funérailles autorisée depuis une trentaine d'années, mettant son expertise au service des personnes endeuillées. Colette est gérante du Salon Funéraire Lougheed Chapelle Hanmer/Capreol.

Catherine Coe, Funeral Director

Catherine was born and raised in Sudbury.  After graduation from Lockerby High School, she attended Humber College where she obtained her Funeral Director's License.  She is the Past President of the Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrisers, Past President of the Northeastern Ontario Funeral Association, Past Director of the SPCA Advisory Board, member of the Animal Care Review Board of Ontario and a former member of the Business & Professional Women's Group.  Catherine has been a funeral director with Lougheed's since 1993.

James T. Ranger, Funeral Director

Born and raised in the City of Sudbury where his family dates back five generations. His great-great grandfather Henry Ranger was a prospector who discovered Creighton Mine. Jim graduated from St. Charles College and then went on to graduate from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College in 1987. He married Anna Floreano in 1995 and they have one son Kevin. With a sports minded son, he attends as many soccer and hockey games as possible. Jim enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and travelling.

Julie Ross, Funeral Director

Julie was born and raised in Hanmer graduating from E.S.C. l'Horizon in Val Caron.  She attended Humber College, in 1996 moved to London, Ontario to work for Furtney Funeral Homes returning to Sudbury to work for the Lougheed family in December of 2003. Julie is the mother of a wonderful and active son, Mathieu. Julie is an active member of St. Jacques' parish in Hanmer and is currently on the church council.

Native de Hanmer et diplomée de l’ESC l’Horizon à Val Caron, elle a  fréquenté le College Humber en 1996, a travaillé pour Furtney Funeral Homes à London, Ont.  En 2003 Julie est revenue à Sudbury pour travailler aux Salons Funéraires Lougheed où elle est maintenant gérante de la chapelle à Val Caron / Blezard Valley.

Danielle Lapalme, Funeral Director

Danielle was born and raised in Sudbury.  She graduated from College Boréal with distinction in 1999 and has been with Lougheed's since 2004. She enjoys spending time at camp on Lake Panache with her family.

Née à Sudbury, Danielle a complété ses études universitaires et collégiales à Sudbury.  Diplomée avec distinction du Collège Boréal depuis 1999.  Fortunée de pouvoir exercer sa profession ici à Sudbury.  Elle travaille pour la famillle Lougheed depuis 2004.  C’est un privilège et important de servir les gens de ma communauté.

Marie Marcotte, Funeral Director

Marie was born and raised in Sudbury.  She attended Collège Boréal and graduated in 2006.  She and her partner, Kevin, are the proud parents of two wonderful boys.  Marie enjoys fishing, swimming, reading, and being with her family.

Née à Sudbury Marie est diplomée du programme de Formation en services funéraires du Collège Boréal. Elle travaille pour la famille Lougheed depuis 2007.

Pamela Taylor, Funeral Director

Pamela was born in Sudbury and raised in Lively.  She graduated in 2006 from the Funeral Services Program at Humber College and was the recipient of the John Finn Memorial Award.  Pamela resides in Sudbury with her two active boys and baby girl.

Emily Beausoleil, Funeral Director

Emily was born and raised near Kingston, ON.  She graduated with distinction from the Funeral Services Program at Collège Boréal in 2006 and was the recipient of the Michel Séguin Bursary and the Board of Funeral Services Award.  Emily enjoys snowboarding, music and spending time with her husband Mathieu Beausoleil.

Née à Kingston.  En 2006, elle est diplomée avec distinction du programme de Formation en Services Funéraires au Collège Boréal.  Emily travaille aux Salons Funéraires Lougheed depuis 2006.


Richard Martel, Funeral Director

Richard Martel, better known as "Rick", was born and raised in Azilda.  He graduated with distinction from the Funeral Services Program at Collège Boréal in 2006 and was the recipient of the Lougheed Bursary.  Rick enjoys hiking, tennis, jogging, and spending time with his wife Kathleen (nee Balicki) Martel.

Né à Azilda.  En 2006, est diplomé avec distinction du programme de Formation en Services Funéraires au Collège Boréal.  Richard travaille aux Salons Funéraires Lougheed depuis 2006.

Gustave Adam, Funeral Director

After 31 years with Bell Canada, Gus recently retired and returned to the funeral business in Sudbury.  Married to his wife Jo-Anne (Proulx) for 34 years, he has two children and four grandchildren.  Gus is a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Marié à Jo-Anne (Proulx) avec deux enfants et quatre petits-enfants.  Après avoir pris sa retraite de Bell Canada en 2008 Gus est revenu dans cette profession car il a toujours aimé aider les gens. Il était chef scout à Hanmer et 4ième degrée Chevalier de Colomb.  

Renee Schilkie, Funeral Director

Renée Schilkie was born and raised in Chelmsford graduating from E.S.C Champlain High School  and attending Collège Boréal in the Funeral Services Program, graduating in 2006.  She married her husband Jordan in 2007 who is also from Chelmsford.  After working 3 years in Ottawa for Kelly Funeral Home, she moved back home to start a family; a beautiful baby girl Alexis and started working for the Lougheed Family in May of 2009.  Renée enjoys spending time with family & friends, reading, golfing and fishing.

Mariée à Jordan Schilkie, nous avons une petite fille, Alexis qui a 1 an.  Renée vient de Chelmsford et habite maintenant à Azilda.  Après avoir gradué du Collège Boréal du programme de Formation en Services Funéraire en 2006, elle a travaillé à Ottawa pendant 3 ans et est récemment revenue à Sudbury. Renée travaille pour la famille Lougheed depuis le mois de mai, 2009.

Jeffrey Shrigley, Apprentice

Jeffrey was born and raised in Sudbury and attended Humber College in 2010 after graduating from Lockerby Composite Secondary School. He decided to return to Sudbury to start his internship in April of this year. Jeffrey is happy to be back home and  he enjoys spending time with family, visiting his friends, playing sports and listening to music.
