Obituary for Brenda Ida Holla

In loving memory of Brenda Ida Holla
March 10, 1952 - September 28, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that the Holla family announces Brenda’s passing on September 28, 2018, at Health Sciences North. Beloved daughter of Vaino and Sigrid Holla (both pre-deceased). Loving sister to Randy (Luanne) and Michael (Wendy, pre-deceased). Auntie Brenda is fondly remembered by Sean (Marissa) Holla, Robert (Brianna Nadjiwon) Holla, Maija (Ian) Lalonde, Maili (Christopher) Hughson. A cherished Great-Aunt to Aria and Amelia Holla, Linken and Laila Lalonde, and Kaden Hughson. Dear cousin to Richard Courville of Toronto. Brenda proudly grew up at the family farm held for generations on Kantola road. She attended school at 1A Waters Elementary School, and proudly graduated from LoEllen Park Secondary School; And began her career working first at Pinehill Lumber, and then at Canada Revenue Agency, from where she retired after 30 years of employment. Brenda will be fondly remembered as friendly and warm, a curator of many collections, which included a vast collection of friends from over the years. An avid follower of world and current events, she often enjoyed celebrating great milestones. She sent greetings and messages to loved ones for each occasion, and to those in need. She never forgot anyone for holidays, and she maintained orderly lists. Brenda looked forward to her girl’s dinners and visits with friends. A special thank you to everyone who enriched Brenda’s life.
The last six years Brenda happily resided at the Meadowbrook Retirement Village, surrounded by wonderful people.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Meadowbrook Retirement Village, to celebrate Brenda’s life on, Monday, October 1st, from 2 - 5 pm, in the main lounge.

The family will hold a private internment service at the Waters Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre would be appreciated.
Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
