Condolence: Libby, Alex, Chris and families: Our sincere condolences in your loss of Phil. My mother, Joan, had the pleasure of sitting with Phil at the Walford for meals for the past 22 months. Many a conversation was had about life, travels, and especially about his family. The past 2 Christmas dinners we had with you Libby, and Phil will be remembered by both of us. Phil always had such interesting stories to tell and his company was much appreciated by my Mom. He made her feel welcome at her new "home" right from the start. I will miss discussing world news with him and his wit. And of course, no-one at the Walford could sing the song New York, New York like Phil could! Condolence: I was fortunate to meet Phil and sit beside him in the dining room for the past year. His devotion to his family and his wealth of knowledge made for many discussions. He worked hard at life and enjoyed his accomplishments with his family. I will miss our talks and feel fortunate to have met him.

Condolence: Phil was a very brave man and a heck of a good crib player! I met him in hospital and at the Y. He really enjoyed the trip to Thailand and was an inspiration to everyone he met.
