It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother Elsie Matheson (nee Marcotte) at the age of 85 years on February 9, 2018. Daughter of Elsie and Peter Marcotte (predeceased) and sister to many siblings. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Gordon Matheson (predeceased). Mother of Norman (wife Theresa) and Catherine (partner Tim). Grandmother of Melissa (Chad), Shannon (Phil), Christopher, Paige, Sara and Brock. Great grandmother of Olivia, Layla, Sophia, Nash and Miles. Elsie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, garden, knit, sew and spend time with her family. Not a Christmas would go by without all the children receiving her hand made flannel pajamas. We will forever remember our Sunday dinners with all the family. She loved life and was very witty, providing us with much laughter. It is with great comfort to know that she is now with dad. A special thank you to the staff of Pioneer Manor who compassionately provided her care for the last six years. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Pioneer Manor or the Shriners Hospital for Children. The family is having a private celebration of her life and interment at the Waters Cemetery.
