Obituary for Margaret Gladu (Abelovski)

In
Loving Memory
of
Margaret “Margie” Gladu
(nee Abelovski)
75 years
Our lovely little snow bird embarks this year on a different journey to a prettier place. Usually this time of year she would eagerly be getting ready to spend the winter at her beloved home in Florida, however this year God had a different plan for her. She passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.
Beloved wife and soul mate for 56 adventurous years to Raymond “Ray” Gladu. Loving and devoted mother of Jeff (wife Shelley) and James. Cherished Grandma of Jordan (Kelsey), Dylan, Logan, Teegan, Nicholas and Simon. Predeceased by her parents Joseph & Margaret Abelovski (nee Gombar) and her brother Joseph (Linda also predeceased). Survived by her sisters Mary Varieur (Roland) and Liz Funk (Gerry). She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and the Gladu family.
Margaret and Ray enjoyed their home on Wahnapitae River. She loved spending warm afternoons cruising the river on her pontoon boat. She spent evenings with a glass of wine, chatting and enjoying the company of family and friends. She and Ray spent their winters at their home in Port Charlotte, Florida where they spent many afternoons shopping, yard saling, walking along beach with her toes in the sand and looking for those elusive sharks teeth. She loved when her grandsons came to visit her and had a twinkle in her eye and always a listening ear. The boys will always cherish these visits and their in-depth conversations with her. Margaret was the matriarch of our family and she leaves a void in our hearts that no one can replace.
At her request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Over the years, Margaret generously donated to The War Amps. In her memory donations to The War Amps would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
