Randolph (Randy) Donald Martel

The family announces with great sorrow his passing at Health Sciences North on August 13th, 2017 at the age of 59. Beloved husband of Nancy Martel (nee Martin). Loving father of Megan (Ryan), and loving pop to his precious grandchild Ramsey Donald Matte. Predeceased by his father Ralph (Donald) Martel Feb. 18, 2014 and survived by his mother Alice Martel (nee Canard). Dear brother to Shelley (Don),Vernon (Maureen), Richard, and Sheila (Ronnie). Niece Terri (Gregg), his nephew/Godchild Ronald III Dumont, and Christian Paquette. Godfather of Erica Brosseau. Also survived by his sister-in-laws Laura Desmarais, Sandra Martin(Gerry), Jane Picotte and Donna Sewrey. Brother-in-law to William (Bill) Martin and Alfred Sewrey. Nieces Jennifer (Shawn), Sandra, Clarissa (predeceased Jun. 2012) McNichol, Chelsea (Joey) Bertrand. Nephews Michael, Harvey Jr, Andrew McNichol, Patrick, Anthony (predeceased Dec. 31, 2015) Felker, Keith (Godson), Kyle and Shane Picotte, and Brodey Ladouceur. Predeceased by his grandparents Philip and Eglantine (nee Leclair) Martel, and Ida Skrypnyk-Canard (nee Peshigwan) and Joseph Canard. A special thank you to Dr. Pun, Dr. Singh, and Dr. Walton, and a huge thank you to nurses Janice, Doris, Joanne, Amanda, Angie, Andrew and Stephanie.

All those who knew Randy will miss his sense of humour and his kindness. He took the time to help others without hesitation. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and working in forestry. As Randy would say “don’t say good-bye, say see you”.

The ceremony will be held at the Benny cemetery on August 19th, 2017 at 11:00am with a celebration of life to follow at the Cartier Community Centre at 12:30pm. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation or the Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Services.
