Obituary for Sheila Stevens (Bush)

Sheila Stevens (Bush)
Sheila Anne “Granny” Stevens (nee Bush), 74 years

It is with great sadness that we announce her passing on Thursday, May 11th, 2017, at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, with her loving family by her side. She fought the great battle bravely. Sheila was born on July 27th, 1942 and was the second of three daughters born to Anne Cecilia Bush (nee Spencer) and Lloyd Joseph Bush (both predeceased). She is survived by both of her sisters: Marlene Dzyngel (husband John) of Sault Ste Marie and Janice Gratton (husband Ron) of Capreol and stepbrother Ted Blanchard of Port Perry. She was born in Sudbury and later moved to Blind River, where she attended school until the seventh grade. She then relocated to Greater Sudbury and lived in Wahnapitae for 50 years before finally settling in Hanmer in 2009 when she lost the love of her live, Morris “Mike” Stevens. They were married on February 20th, 1960 in Coniston at the All Saints Anglican Church. Sheila gave birth to three sons: Terry of Hanmer, Michael (Tammi) of Wahnapitae, and Clayton (wife Debbie) of Wahnapitae. Granny is survived by 8 loving grandchildren: Kayla (Scott), Kyrie (Cory), Lisa (Gaston), Michael (wife Jennifer), Chad (Kate), Alanna (Brock), Janice (Kevin), and Melissa (Dustin) and 2 step granddaughters: Ashley (Cam) and Cassandra, all of Greater Sudbury. Sheila was also a beloved Great Granny to Mya and Parker. And we cannot forget her furry friend, Patches. Sheila was also very involved in the lives of many friends and extended family members. She always made everyone feel welcome and loved.
Her best times were spent camping at Pancake Bay with all of the family, so many wonderful memories. Sheila also worked for 31 years at K-Mart, with 2 final years at Zellers before retiring. Sheila was also a faithful parishioner at All Saints Anglican Church, serving in many capacities over the years and has also enjoyed the fellowship of others. She will miss you all dearly. “Now it is on to my new life with our Lord Jesus; bye-bye for now.”
