Obituary for
Audrey Lily Haggart (Lewandowski)
Audrey Haggart,
January 14, 1943-April 13, 2017
After a courageous battle with cancer, the family announces the passing of Audrey Haggart (nee Lewandowski).
Beloved and devoted wife of Warren Haggart, and loving mother to Kelly and Darren Haggart, loving grandmother of Jessy Haggart, and precious friend and care giver to Catherine McColman. Beloved and loyal sister to Shirley Baldelli (Norman Baldelli). She will be missed by Carly, Coco and Daisy.
Predeceased by her parents Victoria and John Lewandowski, baby Wayne Haggart, and sister Jackie Beaudry.
Audrey was the most loving aunt to Kevin and Mary Baldelli, Kyle Beaudry, Neil Haggart; Renee and Eric Chaloux, Kent and Tianna Wilson, and Meredith and Paul Horlings. She treated all of their children with special attention, and gave each child a place in her heart.
All of her sisters and brothers in-law - Karen Haggart, Jeff and Carmen Haggart, and Clyde Haggart - were so loved and considered true brothers and sisters.
Audrey began working at Shell Canada then became a successful saleswoman for Burke’s Heating in Sudbury. In 1994 Audrey retired to Manitoulin Island with Warren and settled on Lake Manitou. She was recognized as Woman of the Year in 2016 by the Big Lake Women’s Institute, was an active member of the community of Mindemoya and the Mindemoya Missionary Church. She volunteered many hours annually to canvas door to door for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Audrey celebrated her friendships with many, she was most energetic, and enthusiastic about life and love. In her quiet times, few as they were, she enjoyed quilting and gave to many newborn or newlyweds after the time and love put into them. Audrey celebrated your occasions as though they were the most important time in your life. Many gatherings spent around the Haggart dinner table, with friends and family with tons of laughter and memories shared.
A day will not pass by when we don’t think of you, and how blessed we were to have had you in our lives. We say goodbye, but we know you will live in our hearts and we expect to see you again soon. We love and adore you Audrey.
Many thanks to the Mindemoya Hospital staff, for the great care and attention. A special thanks to all the doctors and personal support workers and who gave home care to Audrey. Much gratitude and appreciation to Linda, and Marilyn for all your help.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mindemoya Hospital or the Mindemoya Missionary Church.
Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
