Obituary for Thelma Marie Labbe ( Walker)

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to "Nanny" as she was known to most who loved her.

Thelma Marie Walker was sent to us on March 12, 1926. She was raised very humbly with her five siblings, Leo, Barry, Jim, Phyllis, and Jean, all pre-deceased. She married Henry George Labbe (pre-deceased) on September 27, 1948 and shared their lives together until his passing.

She is survived by her two daughters (her two best friends), Gayle Plumpton (Michael), and Linda Clyke (Gerald, predeceased). May we always remember the importance of the values you taught us Nanny, and may we always carry a little of your grace with us.

She will be dearly missed by her six grandchildren, her love for each of them will always carry them far - Dean Clyke (Sasha), Aaron Clyke (Melissa), Chris Pilon (Kim), Tara Chapple (Mark), Michael Plumpton Jr., and Clayton Plumpton (Nowella). She leaves behind four great grandchildren, Joshua, Ali, Indiana and Dexter.

Many nieces and nephews shared precious moments of her life. She loved all her family.

Although she had a gentle spirit, her faith was strong. During many a crisis she would say she'd pray harder that night. She was known for her selflessness, others always came first. It was not surprising everyone who met her loved her. It was easy to see how special she was.

We celebrate her life with love and we take comfort in knowing she will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day.

Since she spent many years volunteering at The Food Bank, we ask in lieu of flowers that any donation be given to The Mission, The Soup Kitchen, or the Food Bank. Stay close, Nanny, your light will always shine bright.

At Thelma’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
