In memory of Nello Cappelletti, 88 years who passed away Friday, May 31st at Pioneer Manor.
Nello was born on September 2, 1924 in Castel Ritaldi, Spoleto, Italy. Husband to Maria Rosaria (Rosetti) for 52 years. Father to Roberta (Donald Cotnam), and Robert. Grandfather to Melody Cappelletti-Cotnam (predeceased).
Son of Maria and Nazzareno (predeceased). Brother to Silvio (predeceased), Silvana, Iolanda, Nella (predeceased), and Frederico. Missed by nieces and nephews in Toronto, the United States, and Italy.
Nello worked as a miner at Falconbridge Limited for 15 years. He then began a career which he loved as a butcher for the Caruso Club. Nello was known for making his famous Italian sausages and porchetta. Nello was a life member of the Societa Caruso.
Nello taught himself how to play the saxophone, and in younger years performed in a band called Le Tre Stelle, entertaining many in the City of Sudbury.
The family thanks Dr. K. De Blacam, and Dr. Jacques who cared for Nello. We wish to express our thanks to the compassionate staff at Pioneer Manor, who lovingly called Nello “Papa”.
As per Nello’s wishes, private Funeral Prayers will be held in the R.J.Barnard Chapel, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, ON, Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 11:30 AM; Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium, and Interment of Nello’s ashes at the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum, 2nd Avenue.
Mass Intentions at The Church of Christ the King in Sudbury would be appreciated.
